Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to participation in Reading Explorer organised by The Art Hut Studio Ltd.

By submitting an entry, parents/guardians confirm that they have read and agree to the following:

1. Eligibility

1.1 Reading Explorer is open to children in Year 1 to Year 6 who are currently attending a primary school located in St Albans.

1.2 Entries must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian.

1.3 The Art Hut Studio Ltd reserves the right to request confirmation of school attendance if necessary.

2. Original Work

2.1 All artwork and written responses must be the child’s original work.

2.2 Work that is copied, traced, substantially completed by an adult, or generated using AI tools will not be considered.

2.3 The Art Hut Studio Ltd reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not meet originality requirements.

3. Submission

3.1 Each child may submit a maximum of three (3) entries.

3.2 Multiple submissions must relate to different books.

3.3 Only one prize may be awarded per child per term.

3.4 Entries must be submitted before the stated deadline. ( Deadline: 22nd May 2026 )

3.5 Incomplete or late submissions may not be considered.

4. Judging

4.1 Entries will be reviewed by The Art Hut Studio Ltd.

4.2 Judging may take into account creativity, effort, understanding of the book, and clarity of response.

4.3 The decision of The Art Hut Studio Ltd is final.

5. Use of Artwork

5.1 By submitting an entry, parents/guardians grant permission for The Art Hut Studio Ltd to share the child’s first name, year group, and artwork on its website, social media platforms, and promotional materials.

5.2 No surnames or personal contact details will be published.

5.3 Artwork may be resized or formatted for display purposes.

6. Data Protection

6.1 Personal information collected (such as parent name and email address) will be used solely for the administration of Reading Explorer and related updates from The Art Hut Studio Ltd (where consent has been given).

6.2 Personal data will not be sold or shared with third parties.

6.3 Data will be handled in accordance with UK data protection regulations.

7. Prizes

7.1 For each term, three (3) prizes will be awarded:

Most Creative Response
Most Thoughtful Reflection
Outstanding Illustration

7.2 Each prize consists of a £10 Amazon voucher, unless otherwise stated.

7.3 Winners will be selected by The Art Hut Studio Ltd based on creativity, effort, understanding of the book, and overall presentation.

7.4 Winners will be notified via the parent/guardian email provided at submission.

7.5 Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

7.6 The decision of The Art Hut Studio Ltd is final.

8. General

8.1 The Art Hut Studio Ltd reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions where necessary.

8.2 Participation in Reading Explorer constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
